Initial Situation and Need
The City of Kajaani needed to automate the retrieval and processing of data related to personal and corporate customers from the KIPA API. While the data was available in a technical format, utilizing it for reporting, monitoring, and marketing required manual effort and separate intermediate steps.
The objectives were to:
- Make personal and corporate customer data automatically available.
- Transform the data into an easily accessible format for end-users.
- Enable up-to-date reporting and analytics.
- Ensure data access rights and marketing permissions are maintained.

We delivered an end-to-end solution that automates the retrieval, extraction, and utilization of KIPA API data for municipal use.
The solution includes:
- Automated data retrieval from the KIPA API:

- Power BI reporting suite (Desktop version):
